Whenever i change my lens on my sony compared to my r7 , i miss the r7 feature to close the shutter on the sensor to protect from dust . And unfortunately this one is exposed also. And its so simple a solution.

I love that Pentax introduced a new film camera. If it was full frame I would buy it to support them but I really have no use for half frame.

You know the best thing about screwdrive linkage lenses? In my experience I have yet to have a AF motor burn out in the camera body. I have an F5 that I purchased new way back in 1998 and it has yet to need to have the AF motor serviced/. I have had the silent wave motor burn out of numerous lenses. Too numerous to count actually and its a very expensive repair. I try to buy screwdrive lenses as a consequence whenever possible.

The main reason I went with the Ricoh GR III was simply the compact size, the way the lens has built in cover and folds flat when you turn it off. It fits in your jeans pocket, so it fits in any pocket. The other big reason was image quality. The GRIII might not have the best UI or quality buttons and dials, but it makes up for that by simply being so tiny with a lens. If i ever need a longer lens, then I’ll break out another camera but for 98% of the time, I just want simply snaps of high quality that i can fit in my pocket. As soon as you start putting a zoom lens, microphone and all that, you’ve lost the entire point of the “compact” camera and might as well get something like the LUMIX GH5 which is slightly bigger, but “does it all”

Cost almost twice as much for only five reasons? It's all about videos and not about photos but the truth is most photographers are using the camera for photos! Videos this day uses to much data then to much storage space to expensive overall and yeah more expensive memory card collection then over heating problems if shooting too much! And how about Sony updating firmware? Oh, have to sign up monthly for update and maybe will be released one, one day! 😁

I believe the 40mm f/2.5G is the perfect full-frame equivalent of Panasonic's 20mm f/1.7, which I've been a huge fan of. It might be a bit tight for all-around usage, but the compactness and lightness more than make up for it.

You are correct, there were alot of other tubers that had anywhere from 3-4 months with a pre production model. But they were shooting short films basically. Personally, as a mid range shooter, i am stoked about both the video and stills upgrades for this and it will be a great addition to my kit. You covered quite a bit in just a few hours with it. Not a bad initial video about how it feels. And you covered some topics that othersa haven’t and listed the spec on screen which is helpful for real world use prior to the body arriving. Nice bag but not for travel, at least not for me. I like having a back zippered area for passport, wallet and other important items. I also like bags that have the top that opens away from the body instead of towards the body, makes getting your gear out so much easier. I just purchased a leather ONA Rockaway and it's perfect for my m11p, x100VI, and a few small m-mount lenses, and it's super comfortable. And it's about half the price of the Oberwerth, but I do have an Oberwerth half-case on my M11.

NEXT VIDEO IDEA You should do a video on people hacking camera software to customise their cameras - I think this is an area the camera brands have not considered - reverse engineering or learning how to turn things on - I have a Panasonic lx10 1” sensor and I have turned on Cini like D and V it’s increased the dynamic range and I love it for video and so not selling it ever as it matches up with my G85 and GH6 If you can hack and personalise you camera like magic lantern it increases brand love ❤️ I.e don’t we love to personalise our phones ?

If this was sub 1200 with the zoom I would consider it but the fact that the S52 with kit len comes on sale often for around 1500 makes this almost a non starter.

I can't justify spending another $1000 for the Z8 when my Z6 workhorse is already a SOLID camera. The Z6iii is a GIGANTIC upgrade for Z6 users. I'll save myself $1000 and get the Z6iii :)

I give Pentax an A for effort...but my almost 50 year old Minolta SRT-202 still works fine. And 500 bucks buys a lot of CR2 batteries...and film...and a good Pilot fountain pen...and a Brooks leather seat for my bicycle , and there's still enough to fill the tank on my Prius. Just saying.
